摘要： This paper aims to examine what we know about teachers' beliefs and knowledge concerning language instruction, reporting on two broad themes: 1. the theoretical underpinnings of research on teachers' beliefs and knowledge; and 2. how they work in ESL/EFL teaching practice. This research will firstly discuss the definition of teachers' beliefs and knowledge from different perspectives to provide a complete picture. Secondly, several research results from empirical studies are taken into consideration to identify aspects of teachers' beliefs and knowledge in language teaching.
